
Competitive Swim Team
Coached by Matt Williams, our goal as a swim team is to: teach the fundamental skills of competitive swimming; encourage lifetime involvement in healthy, physical activity; teach the values of discipline, goal-setting, self-improvement and sportsmanship; create lasting friendships; have loads of fun and; practice the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Regular swim team practice/skills development Schedule for all athletes begins in September and runs through March. Practice assignments will be determined based on skill level. 10 & under and developmental swimmers will be offered 3 days per week of practice and are encouraged to attend at least two of those days.
Swimmers who meet advance level requirements set by the head coach will be offered 4-5 training sessions each week with encouragement to attend 3-5 sessions based on age. Advanced high school and advanced home-schooled swimmers will have training as determined by the head coach including strength and conditioning workouts two days per week. A total of seven sessions per week are offered for high school age athletes with encouragement to attend at least 5 of those sessions.
Summer and adult programs are also offered.
